Adopting

I want to adopt. I have for a very long time. Since before I was married. And definitely before I knew it would be struggle to get pregnant. I'm not sure where this came from either. I didn't have friends who were adopted. I just knew it was something I needed to do one day. Probably one of the many reasons I married the man I did. Because while it may not have been a life long dream he believes in this as much as I do.

With that being said I'm not sure where to start. I've been searching the Internet like a crazy person recently to find out as much information as possible. The trouble is there is SO much information! I'm looking at adoption sites, military adoption sites, adoption blogs. It almost feels like I could spend years just reading about adoption.

I am excited and so nervous. I'll keep reading and get back to writing.

Knowledge is power...right?!

Bear Pre-Surgery

We took Lavender to my moms house yesterday. Bear's having surgery on Tuesday to remove the large fatty cyst on his shoulder. We want him to be able to recover for a bit without having his sister in his way. It's extremely difficult to keep those two away from each other in the same house.

Bear's cyst started out pretty small maybe the size for a tangerine and now it's the size of a grapefruit. We did all the testing on it early to check it out. We were told it was just a fatty cyst and that dogs get them all the time so they don't remove every single one. But this is big. And I want it gone.

We found a lovely vet. And I am very happy with the way they treated my terrified puppy at the first visit.

He is getting drop off in the morning on Tuesday and then we get to pick him up that evening. :/

I need to remember to take a before and after shot!

Life's too short

It's been 21 days since my last post. I have been a lazy blogger. A lot has happened but I just haven't had the energy to write about it.

I already wrote about this but EJ's grandpa passed away. A week later...

One of my moms best friends passed away. Her older daughter is also my sisters best friend. She fought breast cancer for 9 years. She was an amazing person. She has three beautiful children whom I used to babysit when I was in high school. They are amazing. Life will never be the same.

((While this is big in our little lives I understand that it is trivial compared to the first two events this month.)) EJ and I have been trying to get pregnant for a little over a year and a half. Since November I have been on different fertility meds and had two IUIs. Nothing has worked so far. So we decided to take some time off from all the doctor visits and drugs. We are going to put more money away in savings for the future, for IVF and adoption. I realize we are young and these things will happen when they are suppose to. yeah i hear it...but it's still a hard thing to face.

About a week after we decided all that, one of my managers put her two weeks notice in and I put my resume in for her job. Talk about perfect timing! A better position for my career and more pay, yes thank you! I hope to find out this week.

I have always been career oriented and it wasn't until I thought my career was going no where did I become over eager to have a family. Perhaps this is just what I need to take my mind off of babies.

Everyone says I'll get pregnant when I stop trying....

Whatever happens I am just a bit more excited for the future than I was.

Almost Over

We left South Carolina this morning. I started out driving part way and EJ finished the rest. I ended up falling asleep for about an hour. It's amazing how much faster the ride went! We made it back in time to get to a friends super bowl party. EJ is still there but I have so much to go to get ready for this week I decided to come home. I mean really I don't mind missing the game. I just like the commercials anyway.

This long weekend is almost over. and another busy week will start. I will be babysitting on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. And I need to kick up my training for the half marathon it's just around the corner.

A day we will always remember

Staturday a day of talking and eating. I feel like I have never eaten so much good food in one day! It was so fun to hear old stories about EJ's grandpa. I wish that there were more stories shared while the people were still alive so they could add their side of things. It takes losing someone to bring everyone together. Family from all over the states came to visit. I think everything turned out beautifully. My heart is breaking for his grandma though. I just can't even imagine.

Travel Day

I went to work today from 7am  to 10am and then drove to my in laws to meet with with my soon to be sister-in-law. We drove down to SC together. The 5.5 hour trip took us 7.5 hours. We got pulled over and I was given a ticket for speeding. LAME. I really wasn't going that fast! ohhhh well. We went much slower the rest of the trip also due to the horrible rain storm that followed us down.

We stopped for lunch at a KFC/Taco Bell for a quick bite that took forever! I ordered the famous bowl...my favorite because it has a little bit of every thing I love. I opened the lid and they had torn up chicken strips instead of popcorn chicken! hahah how weird!

We did finally make it. And even though the circumstance of our trip were sad we did have a lot of fun on the long ride down.

We are staying at a Holiday Inn here that is brand new and gorgeous. That makes me love my line of work even more.

EJ left so early this morning with his mom to go down to South Carolina to be with his grandma and the rest of the family. I have to work today and take the puppies to my moms house. She is going to watch them so we don't have to worry about the dogs. It is going to be a long couple of days.

Emotional Rollercoaster

Today was a crazy and emotional day.

We started the day of at the naval hospital having our second IUI. Basically, starting the day off in a super happy and hopefully mood.

Later that afternoon we find out EJ's grandpa passed away and the funeral will be this weekend in South Carolina. So sad. He has been sick for a while so everyone knew it was coming but sometimes that doesn't really make it any better.

That night my betterhalf, my best friend in the entire world calls me and tells me she is engaged! So happy for her.

A roller coaster of a day.

Another Round

I got a shot today! We are scheduled for the IUI tomorrow! Soooo happy.

I was told that in my blood work test I was ambiguous on the MMR test. I may need to get that shot again...so I will have to get more blood work done to see if I immune to the measles and such. Fun.

Dinner and Dress Up

We had an end of January cook out last night. We just had a few people over. The boys cooked steaks and chicken on the grill. It was a bit chilly to stand out side and talk but E made a fire in the pit and that helped. After dinner Addison and I went to see what I have for a 1 and a half year old to play with.

Dress up!

Looking for more!

We did find a pretty shawl to complete the look. I never got a good picture from the front.

Trying to find Ashleigh my cat..

 Still looking..

Addison is so smart going to the other side...but Ashleigh is quick.

Travel Or Moving

EJ has been traveling for work this past week. This time he was in Miami. Poor baby. It was all warm and sunny and he only had to work a few hours a day. I really wish I was the one who joined the military! It alwasy sucks  but it's not long so I really can't complain. I do get pretty board. I made some awesome chocolate chip cookies from scratch. I caugth up on DVR'd shows. And of course went to bed earlier...while letting the puppies sleep with me most nights.

While EJ was gone he heard that four billets are being cut from his area at work. He knows one of the guys but no one will tell him who the other 3 are. He will find out on Monday if we are moving this summer. I really don't want to pack up and move again...I just started working! But maybe it will be a good thing. Nothing to worry about till we find out on Monday.

New Fridge

We got a new fridge on Friday!
Now technically it is not new...but it is new to us. Ours that came with this wonderful rental was having some issues. A family friend had a free older fridge to give away so we jumped on it. Condsidering it had been about a month since we told the renter lady that our freezer was broken and nothing had happended. We knew we needed to find a solution. We had a side by side fridge/freezer that didn't have all the drawers. Now we have a top/bottom(What do you call these?) fridge freezer with plenty of space!

Amazing!

Confession

I have a confession to make...

Yesterday morning I woke up at 5:45am. Got dressed. Ran 3 miles. Took a shower and got ready for work. I even ate breakfast sitting at the table. I brushed my teeth and realized I didn't have to leave the house for another 15 minutes.

I crawled back into bed and pulled the covers up over my head for 20 minutes.

I feel like I should wake up earlier to run so that I have time for my post run nap.

But that just seems ridiculous :)

1.1.11

My sister left for Luxembourg today. We ate at Buffalo Wild Wings for her last U.S. meal with the family.
We dropped her at the airport...she had two bags that both weighed 50lbs each....a lot of stuff for the next 4 months. My mom and I went to Michaels were I got some awesome deals! I packed away almost all of the Christmas decorations. Tomorrow we are taking down the lights. The snow is almost all melted away now. It was in the 60s. A HUGE change from the blizzard we were having last weekend.
