I'm in shock

Today has been a rather uneventful day so far. I got to sleep in which was nice. But other than that E and I have just been hanging out catching up on shows that we DVR'd during the week and playing with the puppies. It's about 4pm now which means I need to get ready to go to work. Boo on working Sunday nights! Because I enjoy procrastinating I got online to check my email to see if I had any facebook love. And what I found was even better than that! I won one of the Sony E-Readers from Boarders! I wish I could copy and past the picture here but I can't figure it so go to Military Avenue and check it out. There's my picture and my answer. Which has type-o's really wishing I had reread that!  haha Now this boring and uneventful day has become a very good day!

Blogger Layout Question

I have a questions for all you super savy computer people...

How do I  put information on both sides of my page? I have everything listed in a long line on the right side. But there are some of you out there who are amazing and have pictures and such on both sides of your blog posts. If this isn't something super secret will you please let me in on it! I really just want to be cool like you! Thanks!
I believe that once you start thinking about something you see or hear about that one thing you want everywhere. The first time I really noticed that was when I bought my first car. We shopped around and finally decided on the Acura MDX. I don't know much of anything about cars I pay attention to the color of cars but not much else. After we had chosen that car but before the keys were in my hot little hands. I started seeing MDX's all the time! and to think before my husband even showed my one I'd thought I'd never seen one before. Ha.
Oh I do love this car so much!

Now, I feel like every time I sign on to Facebook or blogger someone is announcing that they are having a baby!  I've never experienced so many people being pregnant/just having a baby at one time. Hearing about morning sickness and other physical pains related to being pregnant make me second guess if that's really something I want to do! haha. I mean I know it's worth it, that's what ever mother says...but it just sounds plain miserable sometimes. Anyways, just something I noticed. Congrats to all those new mommies!! I am very happy for you :)

I'm always on the search for new projects. Once something is nearly complete I'm looking ahead at what else I can do/learn about. While looking for new books to read I came across "The Husband Project" by Kathi Lipp. If the name of this book doesn't intrigue you I don't know what will. On amazon she has a link to her blog and is asking people to do a review of her newest book "The Marriage Project". I have never done a review but so many others have and I wanted to try it. I sent an email and what do you know she responded! I will first be reading the husband project. As I read or perhaps after I finish I'll let you know what I think about the book and I'll be sharing some of the "projects" that are in the book for readers to try at home. Perhaps there will even be giveaways for those that participate in the projects! Exciting, yes! So now I'm waiting for my book to arrive so we can begin!

Yes, this is a book about married couples but I don't see why you can't participate with your boyfriend/fiance. The important man in your life is important no matter what the title!

Orders!

We have unoffical orders...but orders non-the-less! We are going back to Virginia!! I am so excited. I will admit that I didn't want to go back to Va at first but I was slowly talked into it. We have friends and family there. On top of that I'm sure I will find a good job pretty quickly. And even if I wasn't thrilled about where we are going it is so nice to know where we will be moving to. The unknown is the worst! At least it is for me. And another great thing about it is we will be back near the ocean front. Trading one beach for another. I will miss the white sands here. Of course I realize that the military always changing their minds and they do love surprises so this could all change.

Until that happens Virginia here I come!

While at the mall today I went looking for a bookstore. I was hoping to find a big Barnes and Noble but surprisingly there wasn't one. The only boosk store at the mall was a very small Walden Books. Lucky me though because the store was closing, everything is 65-90% off! Yes, I do love a good deal on books. I purchased a couple of books and  note cards for change of address at 90% off I couldn't pass them up since I will need them in just a few short months.

I also saw Leap Year today with that darling husband of mine! I know it wasn't his first pick, but I begged. It was a cute movie good chick flick cause you know how it's going to end and that is my ultimate favorite type of movie!

I am also very excited about an upcoming book review I may be doing
...but I don't want to say too much just yet!

I'll Shop Till I Drop

This job is not what I thought it was going to be. But it is not all bad. I was asked on Wednesday if I would lead one of the trips. Basically, that means I'm a chauffer. But that also means you get to go and do whatever the trip is. I really want to go on the horseback riding one later this month **crossing my fingers** But the trip monday is to the mall in town. Okay not the greatest event but I get to spend the afternoon at the mall and get paid holiday pay the entire time! So, this job does have it's perks I suppose.

I have decided what trips I will be going on in the next couple of months. I am going to Texas and NYC. California is just not going to happen. Someday I'll get out there!

Now I'm off to go read because I haven't read a blog in way too long and I'm missing it all very much!!

Make My Day

Today was my first day at work. Let's just say it was...slow. However, I do have one funny story. I sit at the front desk of the libert center. So lots of people come up and ask questions and there are a few flyers/information for people to read at the desk. When a guy came up to the desk looking at the papers I said hi just being friendly and this is about how the conversation went...

Guy: (sarcastically) "Busy day today?"
Me: "Super!" (showing him my half way finished Sudoku)
Guy: "So is your dad in the military?"
Me (giggling inside) "Yes, he is. So is my husband...that's why I'm stationed here."
Guy: "oooh ok" mummbles something and walks away.

Who doesn't like an ego boost. :) haha

Traveling

My sister left this morning...so sad! She is now back in Ohio and so this cold weather that followed her down here should leave.

In other news, my mom and my aunt are planning a trip to New York at the end of March begining of April (during my cousins spring break). My mom really wants me to go and I would love to! I've never been to NYC. But we will be moving mid April and since I don't know where we are going next that makes me nervous. If we move to VA then it might not be so bad because after the trip I could just stay in Va and look for a place to live and a new job. But then that leaves E with all the packing and traveling with animals all alone. I'm sure he could handle it but still it wouldn't be fun.

My best friend in the whole world lives in Texas and I love her dearly. Because we are so much closer to Texas now than say when we lived in Virginia I had high hopes of seeing her often. We have been living here for about 5 months now and I have yet to get over there...it is still very far away! So I was hoping to go see her in Feb sometime.

As I'm looking at flights to Texas one of my good friends from high school says that two of our other good friends are coming to visit her in March and that I should come too. She lives in Cali and I am the only one of the 3 of us who has yet to get out there because I had work and then I moved and it is just never good timing for me. So of course I'd really like to go there too.

Meanwhile, I'm thinking about how I wish I was a billionaire so I could just fly all around the US any time I want. Because really I'm dreaming of these trips and I haven't even had my first day of work yet! ha.

It has been about a month since I found out that I got hired with the MWR. Everything takes its sweet time in Pensacola. But I am happy to say that there has been some progress. I filled out all the paper work this morning.

One of the many sheets of paper that I had to sign was one stating that I don't know anyone who is planning to attack the U.S. Wait a minute...What?! Not saying I do know anyone...because I don't. But why in the world would anyone really admit that they do, when they are being hired. Clearly this form is not working because people are still sneaking into the system and attacks are happening. hmmm makes ya wonder who took the time to come up with that form and what better things could they have been doing.

I start training on Monday. Which is pretty cool since my sister leave on Saturday. So that gives me one whole day to enjoy my last day as just a wife.  What will I be doing? Probably catching up on all the blog reading I have been missing out on. Which leads me to my next thought. I would really like to comment more. At first when I started reading other blogs I didn't comment at all...this was all new to me and I am a shy person even when it comes to doing things online. But now that I am getting more comfortable and well sometimes I just love the things people say and I need to tell them right there and then that they are absolutly amazing to me.

But I still find i don't always know what to say. I love reading about kids and families because I want some little ones of my own one day and I've always been a baby person. So I'll read something and think it's very interesting but not have anything brilliant to say. This is when I wish there was a button such as the one on facebook that I could check and say "Christine Likes it" Because that's truely how I feel and I want you to know I read what you write I just don't have anything to add. So I'm wondering am I the only one who feels this way? I suppose that will be my New Years Resolution as it's already the 8th and I haven't set one.

Exploring Pensacola Day 1

I think it's fun to play tourist in the town you live in because often times I don't even know places exist. I just do my daily routine and miss out on some pretty cool places. So that is what my sister and I have done this week. We went to Pensacola Beach when we had the one warm day on Saturday. I didn't take any pictures there because I left my camera at my parents house and it was in the mail.
But here are some pictures from Downtown Historic Pensacola
We also went to the Vetrans Memorial and the Memorial for Missing Children

Me on the left Kat on the Right
((we are twins seperated by 4 years))

Kat's is the one on the left with the green shutters it happens to be for sale right now

Yet another pair of amazing houses!

Half way to 50

Yesterday was E's 25th Birthday! He was 18 when we met...time sure does fly.

My sister and I had big plans to tag his car while he was at school but we had to wait until after FEDEX came because I knew I needed to sign for a package. Well by the time we were able to get to walmart get the super cool crayons for writing on glass and were on our way to base, he had been let out of class early and was already home. LAME. That did not stop us! We still wrote on it even though it was in my drive way...we were women on a mission.

These are way better than what I have used in the past to write on car windows! They write just like crayons so much easier no drips like with paint!

My sister posing with our art work

We went to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings one of our many favorite places to eat. We came home and had brownies and E opened his presents from us. What he really wants is to rebuild his computer so his major present is to wait until he can buy all the parts at one time. For now we got him some accessories for his grill.
This is before he started opening his presents while he's talking to his bestfriend Evan

Yes, that is two and five candles. We are the clever ones!

My sister and I spent the afternoon exploring historic Pensacola...I'm going to write about that tomorrow because this will just get too long! But I will say that I want a house just like this one day! Isn't it gorgeous!!

Mission Organization

I love to organize and clean. It makes me one happy person when everything has a specific spot. I don't just do this at the begining of the year it's a full time thing for me. One would think I would have everything in my house organized by now but it doesn't work that way. I have more things than space to house everything. Which is a big problem for most people I think. Anywho, I am getting there. I purchased more storage containers in red & green for christmas things so that it's easy to know what holiday decor is stored where.

My sister and I went to home depot the other day on a mission to find something that would help me get my craft room more put together. I purchased a shelf and peg board. I love the peg board!! I just think it looks so cute and useful. In my craft room I do not have a real work table I'm using our old coffee table that I was going to give away when we lived in the apartment but decided to keep. It's not much but it's a start and I prefer to spread everything out on the floor and work there usually anyway.

I even have space for all the ribbon I have left over from the wedding and other projects that i'm never really sure what to do with...but now at least they have a home.

I searched for ideas online of how to store stickers and paper and a dozen other project pieces and some women out there have the most Amazing craft rooms! This desk is from Pottery Barn and I love it. I also love those leaning shelves. One day they will be mine!
