Nike+ SportBand and shoes.

When it comes to Christmas presents this year I had a hard time of thinking of things I really wanted. Normally, thoughout the year I see something in the store or on tv and think oh that's great but this year I couldn't seem to recall many of those items. I like reading about what others were asking for because that gave me ideas for myself and for gifts for others.

I'm really getting into this whole running thing. First things first I know I need a new pair of real running shoes. The tennis shoes I currently have were purchased for looks alone, comfort second but definently nothing to do with exercising. So now I'm on a mission to find the perfect pair. Oh boy, are there a ton of sites that will try to help you find the perfect shoe. I normally wear New Balance I think they are cute and comfy. So that's where I started looking....but then started looking at other running essentials.

Now skip to the next item I would like. A watch that keeps track of how far and fast I've run, my heart rate, and how many calories I've burned. There are quite a few choices too. And one could spend anywhere from $300 to $50. The one I really like right now is made by Nike. The only catch is you have to have a pair of Nike's to go with the band. Seeing as I'm in the market for new shoes this really isn't a problem. What I love about the this watch is that you can load all the information to their website and they have different challeneges and logs to keep track of my running. There is a place to create routes and look up others running routes in the area.

Tomorrow we are going to the Nike store and see what they have. I really hope that I find a shoe that I like so I don't have to keep looking for another running watch and a pair of shoes.

Does anyone have any shoes suggestions, Nike or other brand that they just love...or hate??

  2. A great thing I have found, is some running stores will fit you to a pair of shoes based on the way you run. They put you up on a treadmill and a computer figures out a kind of shoe matches the way you step :)

  3. Hey what you need (I assume you have an Ipod) is a $35 Nike sensor. You can put it in a pair of Nike's (like I do) or carry it in a pouch on your shoe. It tells you how far you have run (it actually speaks to you in your headphones while you run) keeps track of the distance and calories you run. Plus you can load it to the Nike site. I LOVES IT! In order to get a good pair of shoes go to a running store and have them videotape your run so they can tell you what stability you need. Then go to runningwarehouse.com (google promo codes since they always have them out there) and buy your shoes there. Cheapest place anywhere. I hope that helps. Merry Christmas

  4. I LOVE my Nike Lunar Glides. And I have the sports band as well. I have just gotten into running and have only run one 5k and am going to do my next one in a couple of weeks, but these things are awesome! The shoes are great. However, if you don't find a pair of Nikes you like, you can still use the sports band without the Nike plus shoes. You can get a "Sensor holder" that holds the sensor so you can use non-Nike shoes and still use the sports band! My friend just got that and wears Asics and it works for her. Good luck!

  8. I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own weblog and was wondering what all is needed to get set up? I'm assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?

I'm not very web savvy so I'm not 100% certain. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

you can have a choice. Up above all, pick every shoe that will keep your feet satisfied.
It's much easier to acknowledge a solution in the event that can apply an approach to deal with each step. But it can in addition be very rewarding and exciting. http://achiki.net/xoops/userinfo.php?uid=7517
