hospital and vet visits

On Monday my mom had her knee surgery. Everything went well and she is recovering nicely. She may even be out of the hospital on Friday. She needs to be able to walk and do more on her own before the Doctors will let her go. I saw her yesterday for a while and my dad has been there most of the past 3 days. until today she was pretty drugged up still.

Tuesday i had a melt down about living with the in-laws. It wasn't a terrible idea to move in with them for a bit but its not good any more. and it is time we get out before more feelings get hurt. Hurry July 15 i need you to come asap!

Yesterday evening i felt a huge lump on Bear's neck. i then proceeded to freak out, positive it was cancer or something. My dad [[thank god he is home for multiple reasons]] calmed me down enough. This morning bear and i went to the vet. He had to be sedated and they shaved the area. It's not cancer! i don't have the paper work with me or i would tell you want the correct wording is...some kind of hematoma. 7.5 hours later i was able to bring him home. i have him in my room with me on the bed. poor guy needs some special treatment and a night away from the other dogs!

i was suppose to go see the new twilight movie with the hubs but i am a worry wort and wont leave bear. I'll see the movie this weekend. i am very excited about it!

In high school we called ourselves the Fabulous 5.
Here we are on Friday at Carraba's for dinner.
There are 6 of us because one of the girls sister's came with us.

Here is our graduation picture

Love these girls!

Saturday,we recovered from the night before. No pictures becuase necessary.

Sunday, was Fathers Day! Since my dad is overseas we just sent cards cause that's all we really could do.
We did go out with E's stepdad for lunch with the whole gang.
At Joe's Crab Shack.

Happy Weekend

Two things I am super excited about today!

First, my tables are featured at My Repurposed Life Today! I know you want to check out my work and see all the other amazing projects that show up on her site. Because really that's where I get my inspirtaion from is seeing how others do it!

Secondly, My two bestfriends from high school are in town today!! We haven't all been together in 3.5 years. Last year two were having their babies, one in Cali and the other in Florida. So not only do we get to see each other but these towo not so little babies. :)

Oh and still don't know about the house hopefully today!

The search may be over

We found our house!

I love the neighborhood. There is a huge backyard with a deck. We are close to the community pool. E is just a couple of miles from work. We could ride our bikes to the beach on base. The house is a decent size with a garage. The front yard is in need of a little love. Currently 3 bachelors are moving out. Making sure the yard was beautiful was not high on their priorities. But I see the potential.

We are filling out the paper work tonight and hopefully once we are approved we will be in by the first or second week of July. This makes me incredible happy!

I can't wait to unpack all of our stuff and find the perfect place for everything. I also have a few craft projects in mind that I would love to get started on!

Park Swings

Do you remember when you were about 5 years old give or take a few years. Think back to the times you were at the play ground. I believe that the swings are one of the best activities. They are almost theraputic. Who can resit the wind in their hair, pumping your legs to go higher! It's a magical feeling.

When I worked in the sales office of a hotel one of my managers told me that on a tough day go out on my lunch break to the park across the street and swing. Everything would seem better after that.

At the camp ground this past weekend there was a large playground! in our group there are two 5 years old and a 3 year old. Needless to say I spent a lot of time at the park with them.

Moral of the story if you are having a bad day or just need a pick me up...grab a swing and enjoy!

Top Three Thursday

What are your Top 3 Magazines that you LOVE to read?

I am much more of a book reader but there are some magazine's I just love!

1. Runner's World - I got a free electronic copy from my in-laws a few months ago so every month it just pops up in my inbox and I love it!

2. People - I don't buy it often but I always read it while I'm standing in line waiting to check out!

3. Wedding magazines. These have to be my favorite magazines to look at. I haven't bought one since I got married but I could look through them every day. I love weddings!

camping trip

We are going camping this weekend!

Actually, we are leaving tomorrow. We are going with a few other families but our gang all took Friday off. So E's mom thought it would be fun if we left a day early. We are scrambling around here to get everything packed up. We won't be leaving till everyone is off work tomorrow, lucky for us E is the one who works the latest and he still is usually home by 3:30.

We are going to Tall Pines Harbor Campground. This is the first time at this site so hopefully it's as nice as it sounds! And perhaps we will have missed the crowds by not going last weekend during the holiday.

I plan to spend most of my time on a floaty in the water.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!!

Another Successful Project

My first big project that isn't working on furniture for myself! I have a friend of the family who is brave enough to let me take hold of her furniture and transform it into something amazing! She was going to get rid of it anyway and buy new so if I screwed up royally she wasn't really out anything! haha

Here is what I started out with an old fashion end table

I stripped the stain off...my first time stripping! ;)

And here is the finished product!

And the other one

Here is a close up of the edges.
I know it's kind of hard to tell in the other photos but I was going for the antique look.

This whole project was about learning new techniques. In my other projects I used a hand sander and black paint. So this was a fun change!
