Darius Rucker!!

Brad Paisley
So much fun

A pool shaped stage was built just a few seats away from where we sat. During the middle of the performance he walked down through the audience and sat there to sing a few songs.

Near the end of the concert one of the props was a bar where the other performer came out to sing and dance along to the song "Alcohol"

Can you see the big character figure of brad?

Such a great concert!

Decal Project

Months ago I had an idea for a project and ordered a vinal decal. I recieved the decal was super excited about it and then nothing ever happend until yesterday.
My dad cut a piece of wood and routed the edges for me before he left on deployment cause he is super sweet like that! He also put hanging things on the back so I wouldn't have to worry about it later.
Here are all my supplies
I paint the wood an off white color, then sanded it a bit on the edges, and tried my best to stain those areas to give it the "oh so pretty when other people do it" antique look. For my first try I think it went pretty well and I'm happy with the results. Now I know I need to sand it more and use a bit more stain.

Because the vinal decal was older and had been moved from Florida to Virginia it was difficult to transfer to the wood. Not the company's fault at all...operator error. As I was too busy fussing with that I didn't think about which end was up, ya know with the hooks my dad so nicley attached for me. I haven't gone to check and see if I did it properly yet, as I didn't think about it until I went to type this out that I hadn't double checked! haha oh well. Live and Learn

2,001 Things To Do Before You Die

I got a new book today!

I am very excited about it.

It's called 2,001 Things To Do Before You Die
 by Dane Sherwood.

I know after the movie The Bucket List came out,  it felt like everyone created a bucket list. So there are tons of books out there listing things people should/could do. I don't know that this book is any better than the others but it is a good read. I haven't finished it yet, I'm only about half way through. There are so many fun things listed. Some are totally crazy, way out there, I'll probably never attempt, such as running for president. A lot are more acheivable like wear silk pajamas or be a pen pal. The idea is to get people thinking about what they could try and to see the joy in the little things.

I'm not getting anything from writing about this book.
It's just something fun you might like to read.

Over the past few weeks we have been busy!
E helped his brother build a fence

I drove from Virginia Beach to Cleveland to see a good friend from high school and her new puppy.

Then I continued the drive to Bowling Green, Ohio to pick up my sister from school.

While she was busy studying for finals I went to Colombus, Ohio to see a few sorority sisters. I clearly forgot my camera on this trip because I didn't take a single picture!

Once back in Virginia we went to this cutie's first birthday party!
This is her looking at her cake for the first time! It's her surprised face.

And now we are at today. Today is E's first day at his new job! I woke up at 5:15am with him this morning in an effort to create a schedule for me and the puppies. We went for a walk at 6. And I had good intentions of going for a run right after that. But then I thought about how much time I have spent away from blogger and decided to use these early morning hours to get caught up on my reading! I love my husband more than anything but I am so happy to have some time that is just for me! haha

my daddy is my hero

I'm trying this out on my phone for the first time...hopefully it works!
My dad left for afghanistan tonight. He will be there for 14 months.
Today is such a sad day. And now the count down to his return starts!
